The Software Support Engineer will primarily be responsible for providing software specific support to the regional customer support team in North America. Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or another technical discipline (electronics, software, mechanical) or six (6) years related experience.
- Knowledge in C#, .NET in the methods of software engineering is desired.

- Managing installation in sub-fab, such as interface plate, VMB; liquid and chemical delivery piping/sub-systems, managing level-0, level-1 tool installation. Managing sub-contractor in fab installation.
- Liaison between customers in the USA and factories in Asia. Interaction among internal factory, customer, and OEM/AVL suppliers.
- Participate and lead manufacturability review, FMEA, defect analysis, corrective actions.
- Supporting customers and engineering projects in semiconductor equipment, fabs or sub-fabs. Responsibility including Fab or Sub-fab engineering solution, RFQ, DMR, and local support, customer support in new product introduction (NPI) engineering projects in VMB (valve manifold box), interface plate in sub-fab; gas box and gas cabinet in fab; liquid and chemical delivery systems, and/or components in vacuum chambers, heaters, pedestals, valves, vacuum robot, vacuum pump.
- Initiate new product concept, present business case including cost, roadmap, competitive landscape, required resource and return on investment.
- Works with customers for on-site support of measurement, installation, form/fit/function resolution or reworks.
- Pursue and support cost reduction activities to manufacturability optimization.
- Works independently, resolve technical and manufacturing issues without detailed direction, and work as part of a team.
- Reviews and approves Engineering Change Orders (ECO) applicable to product line responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Must have 5+ years of experience in semiconductor equipment companies, fab or sub-fab. Must have Cleanroom and lab work experience.
- Must have Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, material science.
- Knowledgeable and experienced with GD&T, FEA, concept and feasibility, design review, alpha & beta testing, reliability testing, testing procedure, testing fixtures, cleanliness and particle testing, vacuum testing, leak testing, thermal analysis, welding, bonding processes, electrical testing, and manufacturing feasibility review of products and assemblies.
- Knowledgeable with capital equipment installation projects in fab/sub-fab, such as interface plate, VMB; managing tool installation. Experienced in managing sub-contractors.
- Liquid or chemical delivery component or system experience a plus. FM approval experience a plus.
- Experienced with one of the following: MB (valve manifold box), interface plate in sub-fab, vacuum chambers, heaters, pedestals, valves, vacuum robot, vacuum pump, gas box, machined parts, frames, assemblies used in semiconductor equipment or fabs.
- Ability to proactively identify and resolve design and manufacturing related issues and have a thorough understanding of assembly, test & quality methods.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
- Hands-on experience in cleanroom / field operations.
